T1

T1 is a synchronous time division multiplexed service that is constantly sending and receiving bits of information that offers guaranteed levels of performance. Services like ADSL and cable modem operate asynchronously, sending packets at varying speed only when requested and providing only a “best effort” bandwidth assurance with no performance guarantee.

Today, T1 is still synonymous with high quality and guaranteed service but it is considered an entry level service best suited for small offices with less than 12-15 employees.

Installation

Installation interval for T1 service is typically 30 – 45 days.
